Job Description The Head of Commercial Lending Services provides leadership and oversight to several commercial lending support activities which drive loan origination and monitoring. This job oversees staff that prepares loan documents and documentation packages for commercial loan closings, funding and boarding commercial loans, monitoring construction loans, and providing credit information on commercial customers to external requesters. The job develops and implements strategies, policies and procedures to ensure efficient and improving commercial loan processing. The Head of Commercial Lending Services manages staff, establishing goals, and evaluating results; provides leadership coaching, and coordinates ongoing staff development. This job must ensure that own work, as well as work of any employees managed, is in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines, as detailed in policies located on company intranet; policies include but are not limited to Fair Lending, Know Your Customer, Bank Secrecy Act and other applicable anti-money-laundering policies. Establishes and implements department strategies, policies and procedures in support of overall division objectives, including budget. Contributes to development of overall division goals and objectives in coordination with other departments and other executive management Leads Commercial Lending Services through corporate initiatives and strategic change. Initiatives or change examples include the introduction of new systems, acquisitions, and shifting job responsibilities Fosters relationships with internal and external business partners, including Commercial Lending, Corporate and Specialty Lending, Credit Management, Legal Affairs and attorneys, other Shared Services departments, and vendors Champions measurable continuous process improvements according to established policies and procedures and applicable legal and regulatory guidelines Assesses internal and external customer needs and manages commercial lending support activities to ensure services are delivered according to established high standards. Audits department performance, developing and implementing corrective measures as necessary. Formulates and implements plans to improve performance statistics as needed Manages commercial lending support activities, including preparing commercial loan documents, preparing commercial loan packages for loan closings, monitoring construction loan projects, and exchanging credit information with internal and external requestors Manages department staff, assigning responsibilities and evaluating results; provides leadership, coaching, counseling and guidance to staff. Develops, assigns and monitors plans to measure and ensure completion of goals and objectives. Resolves escalated issues and problems by conferring with staff, other internal departments, outside contacts, attorneys and customers as necessary Oversees Commercial Loan Specialist (CLS) work, including:
Coordinating preparation of documentation for new and renewing commercial loans, lines and letters of credit with loan officers, commercial administration, outside attorneys and other vendors, customers and others; researching and gathering necessary supporting documentation, including insurance, tax payments, collateral, environmental, flood certificates and other information; ensuring loan document package supports the terms and conditions approved by the Bank, and that the data in the origination system matches the documentation and loan approval; funding commercial loans using LTD II Boards commercial lending transactions to the appropriate accounting system, either by using an automated system or by providing boarding data to the appropriate department; organizes final document packages for closing; prepares and ships documentation package to the Center of Excellence for imaging, resolving any identified exceptions Oversees loan documentation activities, preparing documents needed to close Requirements 4-year degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience required 10
years related experience required Excellent understanding of commercial loan administration industry practices, including loan document coordination and preparation, collateral, process improvement and related legal and regulatory guidelines Strong management skills and experience, with ability to coach, train and motivate staff effectively Highly organized, with demonstrated ability to develop, analyze, improve and apply complex policies, processes and procedures Ability to initiate and coordinate projects involving multiple departments Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
Minimum Qualification
Banking, Loans & InsuranceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
