Our client is looking for a strong Data Center Software Admin to assist their team in optimizing the utilization of their new DCIM tool, dcTrack. This resource will work to build new and current sites into the system and work with teams to understand all the capabilities and best practices within the DCIM.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Perform onsite configuration of Data Center Infrastructure Management software tools and security and environmental applications.
- Maintains the Data Center Infrastructure Management application and database.
- Integration of DCIM tools with various third party applications.
- Plan and coordinate upcoming projects with customer and internal stakeholders.
- Host pre-configuration conference calls with customers and partners to describe upcoming work, plan delivery and answer technical questions.
- Deliver software training and presentations in classroom style environments with large audiences.
- Document completely all sitework, including the use of standardized siteforms.
- Will be required to interface with the vendor to resolve any issues.
- Writing simplified technical processes and procedures for both technicians and customer usage.
- Ensure system availability by effectively utilizing the change management process.
- Update documents reflecting Data Center hardware locations, copper and fiber circuit schedules, and planned power utilization. Support Operation and disaster recovery testing and repairs.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Familiarity with DCIM applications and general data center monitoring tools with preference given to knowledge of Raritan's DCIM platform, dcTrack.
o Knowledge of any comparable DCIM such as PowerIQ a strong plus.
- Knowledge of common network communications protocols and networking architecture.
- Knowledge of virtualization platforms.
- Ability to interpret one-line diagrams.
- Interpersonal Skills include ability to write well and convey complex technical information in a clear, concise manner.
- Strong knowledge of Excel and Visio.
- Some knowledge in one or several of the following: of network, mainframe, mid-range, and open systems hardware
- Knowledge of structured cable systems, CAT6 and Fiber Optic standards.
- Familiarity with software applications usage concepts
- Working familiarity with MSOffice suite (Excel, Word, Visio)
- Ability to understand and follow detailed directions remotely.
- Technical writing skills.
- Ability and comfortable with providing training.


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
