Job Description The Head of Retail Bank Operations is accountable for overall development and implementation of the Retail Bank
Operations strategy and is responsible for the ongoing , transformation, core systems, infrastructure and risk management for a number of operational functions including Deposit Operations (including Monetary and non Monetary deposit operations), Distribution and Print Services for the organization, Debit Card Operations and Retail Lending
Operations (including originations for Private Banking, Consumer and Mortgage lending products). This Executive is responsible for service delivery workforce, dedicated to the above functions in support of the Bank's overall deposit and retail lending portfolios.
The Head of Retail Bank Operations partners with a number of business lines and functions across the bank including but not limited executives from the Retail Bank, Money Out Product, Money In Product, Private Banking, Compliance, Audit, Credit Risk Management, Technology Solutions and other Corporate/Control functions ensuring alignment between the business and operational areas with assurance of regulatory compliance, quality, productivity and effective originations
governance and control.
The Head of Retail Bank Operations sits on the Operations leadership team and is the primary representative for Operations on the Retail leadership team. The role focuses on implementing leading edge practices, processes and technologies, and is accountable to build a strong bench of managers for future succession. The role is accountable for
identifying, managing and mitigating risk associated with these areas of responsibility and serves as the primary operational interface with multiple, applicable Regulatory agencies.
o Develop / implement and monitor strategies and tactics to deliver excellence in service delivery with respect to deposit operations and retail lending administration and servicing.
o Negotiate and execute an annual business plan, create and execute operating and service programs to meet business objectives, review results and adjust activities as necessary.
o Lead and motivate a remote, diverse work force, developing and retaining the human resources necessary to achieve business results. Provide direction, set goals and ensure that various areas manage toward overall department objectives.
o Build for the future and provide people leadership; oversee people plans and strategies to attract, motivate and retain a highly diverse, qualified and engaged human resource base to fulfill current and future business needs.
o Drive the design and implementation of leading-edge systems and processes to ensure a consistently high standard of service is
delivered to the internal and ultimately, the external customer.
Qualifications o Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance preferred or progressive work experience in addition to experience below.
o 15+ years related operations experience with significant people management responsibilities; experience with integration resulting from acquisitions, mergers or consolidation.
o In-depth knowledge and experience of bank operations including: strong payment systems knowledge; finance and accounting knowledge for settlement areas.
o Banking products knowledge, including: consumer and mortgage lending and deposits. Experience with investor-owned products, such as mortgage loans owned by Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and the Federal Home Loan Bank. Knowledge of third party originated loans and reserve accounting.
o Strong leadership and people management skills to build a cohesive team of members capable of succession to more senior roles. Evidence of coaching, mentoring and developing team members.
o Broad understanding of the US regulatory environment and Federal Reserve regulations.
o Strong understanding of control systems and relevant technologies; understanding of technology's role in the business.
o Experience establishing and implementing new processes and systems; continuous improvement processes knowledge.
o Strong management, organizational and evaluative process skills. Ability to analyze complex organizational and process issues related to operations and identifies opportunities to improve efficiency.
o Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain productive business relationships with internal partners and external vendors.
o Effective negotiation, presentation and influencing skills, including strong written and verbal communication skills.
o External customer experience combined with a solid understanding of creating customer engagement.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
