Business Systems Analyst Summary
On behalf of our client Procom Services is searching for a Business Systems Analyst with a strong technical background with respect to data. Candidates must have demonstrated experience analyzing data, data profiling, working with databases, writing complex SQL queries, and experience leading and participating in JAD sessions. The candidate must demonstrate strong success in acting as a liaison between lines of business and technical teams. Seeking a seasoned professional who is a self-starter, has the ability to adapt, works well under pressure, requires minimal guidance, and can just pick up from where the project is, as well as someone who is both technical and a BSA.
Business Systems Analyst Job Details
In this role the BSA must understand the technical side of things; they will translate the business requirements and/or business use cases into technical terms and work directly with the data warehouse technical designers and developers
The BSA will be required to review and produce detailed documentation - business requirements documents (BRD), technical specifications (SRS), data mapping requirements (DRD/STTM), Report Specifications
Business Systems Analyst Mandatory Skills
- Oracle experience; Experience in data validation and data analysis/data profiling through the writing of multi-table SQL queries against one or more sources;
- Experienced in data warehousing, dimensional data models, Star schema, and creating source to target mapping documents;
- Experience in translating business use cases into system, functional, and technical specifications that drive design and development;
- Experience with design, development, quality testing and UAT;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word/Excel/Power Point);
- Excellent communication skills - The candidate will be engaged with a variety of roles and management levels representing both business and technology;
- Excellent writing skill;
- Excellent presentation skills;
- Data profiling and data mapping experience;
- Experience estimating a body of work to determine level-of-effort, dollars, and likely impacts to other teams;
- Banking/Financial Services background preferred;
-Candidates should be comfortable with, and understand the concepts of Business Objects and/or Crystal Reports , and dimensional data models (star schemas).
Nice to have skills:
- Oracle 10g 11g experience
- Informatica;
- SQL Tools - e.g. TOAD;
- Visio;
- MS Access;
Soft Skills:
- Strong teamwork skills;
- Ability to collaborate well with others, but also be able to take direction and work independently, when required to achieve a task
